On January, Bungie, the makers of Destiny, announced it will join Sony Interactive Entertainment. This was surprising news to everyone to all gamers.
Bungie was the studio behind Microsoft's Halo series for the Xbox platform From 2000 to 2010, Bungie was a Microsoft subsidiary until it became independent and now has joined the PlayStation team, Xbox's competitor.
The acquisition valued at $3.6 billion, I don't think woke Bungie is worth $3 billion. LOL (At least $100-300 million). I don't care for Bungie anymore, lost interest since 2015, but I'm curious what Bungie's next game(s) will be: another Destiny garbage, another IP, or (just a guess) a Marathon reboot to compete against Halo for Sony. (I doubt it).
So, my question is, when all the studios are purchased under either the Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo banner, what does that do to multi-platform titles? Will multi-platform titles become extinct?
Who will be left to purchase?
Don't studios want to be individualistic?
